Message It is entertaining and it will be a way to track dyno results and power outputs from different or similar configurations. With a large enough sample group you get an idea of where each falls into the big scheme of things.

Yes to an extent. You can get an *idea* of power ratings with different setups but there are too many varibles to make it set in stone.

Well, I partially agree with you there. There are two primary requirements to getting the car down the track faster; traction and force. Although peak numbers dont tell everything about how the engine makes power, it gives a good indication of what kind of potential it has. The flipside to your logic is that you aren't going to get a car making 100RWHP to run 9's in the 1/4 mile regardless of traction or area under the curve, so you can't say that an 800RWHP VG30DETT powered Z32 car is going to, under any circumstance be limited to only running 12's.

Yes but power does not = times either. Don't you have 500+ Rwhp on your car? What is your best time? What was Patrick's best time down the strip? He has 740 Rwhp??Ernest's car only had 614 Rwhp when it ran 10.34 @135 but it has a lot more then just a dyno sheet that makes it runs those times.

So like I said. Dyno charts with big peak numbers are nice and all but that does not make for real world power.
